crowd
of
400
family
and
friends
filled
McDaniel
College's
Gill
Athletic
Center
to
honor
the
memory
of
Bob
Flynn
on
the
evening
of
September
15,
2007.
After
a
welcome
from
McDaniel
president
Joan
Develin
Coley
and
a
prayer
from
Fr.
Christopher
Whatley,
those
in
attendance
were
treated
to a
wonderful
dinner.
The
formal
portion
of
the
program
began
with
presentations
to
Tina
Flynn
by
the
CBOA
Basketball
Officials
and
the
Baltimore
Catholic
League.
The
highlight
of
the
evening
were
tributes
by
North
Carolina
State
assistant
coach
Pete
Strickland
and
legendary
coaches
Jim
Phelan
and
Morgan
Wootten.
The
program
concluded
with
heart-felt
thank
yous
from
Tina,
Caitlin,
Michael
and
Ryan
Flynn.
Proceeds
from
the
dinner
benefited
the
Bob
Flynn
Education
Fund.
Including
contributions
made
from
those
unable
to
attend
the
dinner
and
the
Catholic
League
donation,
the
evening
raised
an
estimated
$13,000
for
the
Fund.
